Today's clashes between the Russian army and the Wagner group have been in favor of Ukraine. As soon as Prigozhin began his march towards Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Defense began withdrawing troops from the front line with Ukraine to send them to Moscow.
At the same time, the media reports that several other groups have abandoned the camp and joined Wagner's forces.
This allowed Ukrainian forces to make a significant advance on the eastern flank. Volodymyr Zelenskyy's troops reached the vicinity of the eastern city of Bakhmut - an area taken by the Wagner mercenary group.
Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said an offensive had been launched near a group of villages surrounding the city. " In all these areas, we have made progress ," Ms. Maliar wrote.
Oleksandr Tarnavskiy, the commander of the Tavria, or southern front, said Ukrainian forces had liberated an area near Krasnohorivka, west of the Russian-held regional center of Donetsk.
