The wedding of Avner Netanyahu, the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has been canceled due to the conflict in the Middle East.
The wedding planned for Monday was canceled due to the ongoing conflict with Iran, Jewish media report.
The wedding of the prime minister's son sparked controversy, drawing the ire of some anti-government protesters, who said Netanyahu's family was planning the festivities at a time when Israeli hostages were still being held in Gaza under the prime minister's supervision.
Avner Netanyahu was set to marry his fiancée, Amit Yardeny, on June 16 at Roni Ranch in the Sharon region. More than 1,000 guests are expected at the exclusive ceremony, which will notably exclude politicians.
Originally scheduled for November 2024, the wedding was postponed due to security concerns and the Iranian attack. The ceremony will now be held under tight security, with magnetometer scans, checkpoints and detailed checks.
