British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the United Kingdom is officially recognizing the state of Palestine, in an attempt to revive hope for peace between Palestinians and Israelis.
"Today, to revive hope for peace for Palestinians and Israelis, and for a two-state solution, the United Kingdom officially recognizes the State of Palestine," Starmer declared.
This historic decision aligns Britain with countries seeking a more active role in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, adding to international pressure to resume peace talks.
Earlier, Canada became the first G7 country to recognize the state of Palestine, followed by Australia, reflecting a clear shift in the stance of some of the major Western powers on this sensitive issue.
