Democratic Senator Chris Murphy, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, called the conflict with Iran the most incompetent and unsustainable war America has fought in a century. Murphy also accused the president of being "crazy."
"This is the most incompetent and unsustainable war America has fought in the last 100 years, and that says a lot. This administration has no idea what it's doing. It has no workable war plan. They change their goals and objectives every day. I have great sympathy for our soldiers and our military leaders, they are being given instructions by an old man who is losing his mind," Murphy said.
He argued that the war was going “horribly” and would cost Americans dearly in their pockets and potentially in their security.
"Prices are rising, the Strait is closed. Iran still retains the ability to strike our regional allies... The nuclear program still exists. It has been a complete disaster and it is the fault of one person, Donald Trump, who changes his mind every day about what he thinks," he added.
