Israel's Defense Minister Katz has threatened that if the cease-fire established in Lebanon is broken, they will no longer differentiate between the Lebanese army and Hezbollah.
Reuters quoted Katz, who was visiting northern Israel, as saying that the Lebanese government should authorize the Lebanese army to do its part, keep Hezbollah out of Litan and dismantle all infrastructure.
" If the ceasefire collapses, there will be no more exceptions for the state of Lebanon. We will enforce the agreement with maximum impact and zero tolerance. If until now we have made differences between Lebanon and Hezbollah, it will no longer be the case," he said.
The Israeli military has issued orders barring civilians in neighboring Lebanon from returning to dozens of villages in the south, where tens of thousands of people have been forcibly displaced from their homes.
Many Israelis in northern Israel have also had to flee, due to ongoing firefights between Hezbollah and the IDF since October 7, 2023.
