Iranian Revolutionary Guard General Warns of Attack on Cyprus with Sophisticated Weapons...
The escalation of the conflict in the Middle East has reached the borders of the European Union, after a British base in Cyprus was targeted by drone attacks and, according to media close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, ballistic missiles. The development marks a dangerous extension of the crisis towards the eastern Mediterranean.
According to reports, the base in Akrotiri faced an air threat, while the British authorities scrambled 4-5 fighter jets after receiving reports of a suspicious drone. Cypriot media reports that military installations and the Paphos airport were evacuated, while security forces went on high alert. So far, there is no official confirmation of damage caused by the missiles.

In this climate of tension, the general of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ebrahim Jabbari, issued direct threats against Cyprus. He stated that the US had moved a significant part of its aircraft to the island and warned that Iran would launch “so many missiles that the Americans will be forced to leave”. According to him, about 3,000 missiles and about 10,000 drones have been used so far, while he warned of the use of more advanced systems in the coming days.
“ The Americans have transferred most of their aircraft to Cyprus. We will launch so many missiles towards Cyprus that the Americans will be forced to leave there too. So far we have launched about 3,000 first and second generation missiles. In the coming days we will definitely use third and fourth generation missiles. About 10,000 drones have been launched so far ,” he said.
Greece responded by sending the frigate “Kimon” to Cyprus. The ship, newly commissioned, is taking on an operational mission for the first time. With advanced anti-aircraft, anti-submarine capabilities and modern radar and electronic warfare systems, “Kimon” aims to strengthen the Greek naval presence in the region and contribute to the security of the maritime space in the eastern Mediterranean.
Cyprus, as an EU member state and host to British bases, is now at the center of a crisis that directly links the Middle East to the European space. Recent developments show that the conflict between Iran, the US and their allies is expanding geographically, increasing the risk of direct involvement of European territory in the military confrontation. / Pamphlet
