Relations between two world leaders, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, do not seem to be at their best, but this does not apply to their state officials.
But Republican Anna Paulina Luna has met with Putin's right-hand man, Kirill Dmitriev, to further discuss the situation in Ukraine.
Kirill presented the congresswoman with flowers and chocolates with quotes from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"And these are some of President Putin's statements, and this is just so you know his way of thinking, because this chocolate says that we do not abandon our people, and this is one of his messages," Dmitriev said, handing over the gifts.
Luna, on the other hand, accepted the gifts and joked that if all meetings went like this, she was ready to attend them.
Kirill Dmitriev is Russia's chief economic negotiator in the US, while Anna Paulina Luna is known as an ardent supporter of the MAGA movement and an opponent of continuing economic aid to Ukraine.
During the meeting, Dmitriev sharply criticized claims that the US-Russia dialogue is on the verge of collapse, while during an interview he said that talks with the parties are continuing to encourage parliamentary dialogue.
