French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Kiev this morning, once again demonstrating their "unwavering support for Ukraine" and - following the United States - calling on Russia for a "complete and unconditional 30-day ceasefire," according to a joint statement.
Later in the day, they will meet with Volodymyr Zelensky.
"We will continue to increase support for Ukraine. We will increase pressure on Russia until it agrees to a sustainable ceasefire," the text says.
Ukraine is hosting a meeting of leaders of the countries of the so-called "alliance of the willing", which was formed earlier this year and aims to end the conflicts on the Ukrainian front as soon as possible.
The prospect of reaching a ceasefire agreement remains remote and, of course, depends largely on how Russia responds and to what extent the United States supports its allies.
Ukraine requires clear security guarantees from its allies to protect it from any future aggressive military action against it.
The "Alliance of the Willing" is considering the possibility of a limited deployment of third forces in Ukraine, as part of possible guarantees.
