The six dead of the tragic event in Artemisa of Athens have been identified, writes the Greek newspaper Protothema, after communication and cooperation with Europol and Interpol, as well as direct contacts with the police authorities of France and Turkey.
The victims were initially reported as Albanians, but later identified as Turks with fake French documents.
According to the Greek newspaper, it is about Turkish citizens, five of whom carried fake French IDs, while the sixth was identified with fingerprints. All of them were members of a criminal group, which operated abroad and not in Greece, according to the data so far.
According to the same sources, the criminal group was active, according to investigations so far, in countries of the European Union, but not in Greece. Also, they noted that 4 firearms were ultimately used in the massacre, two of which are of the pistol type.
As for the Turk who was arrested at the airport, his involvement in the incident is being thoroughly investigated. The arrested person, with legal residence in Greece, intended to travel to Mytilini, with a ticket issued in Turkey an hour after the incident in Artemisa.
4 9mm cartridges and two forged Portuguese IDs were found in his possession. According to the information, the man is suspected of having an active role in the incident, with some reports suggesting that he may have lured the victims to the ambush site.
Referring to the apartment in Artemisa, the same sources clarified that the inspection was carried out yesterday in the presence of a judicial officer and the findings were sent for expertise to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations. Today, a second location has been established in the area of Palaio Faliro, which is being investigated and where the arrested Turk lived.
The vehicle they were traveling in comes from Germany, with fake German license plates and belongs to a Romanian citizen, who gave it to the victims. Investigations are continuing at an uninterrupted and systematic pace to identify, find and capture the perpetrators.
At the same time, the Turkish newspaper Milliyet publishes a photo on Wednesday in which it claims that the people shown are the six who fell dead in the murderous ambush.
According to the publication, they are Doruk Ersu Büyüktunç, Abdurrahman Tekrü, Ömer Kanza, Ozan Kaan Tozlu, Barış Çağan and Burak Tahmaz. The Turkish newspaper cites a post on a TikTok account (Red Kit gêntesi) with a photo of the six and the message "we take revenge".
