At least 12 people have died after a boat carrying dozens of migrants capsized in the English Channel today.
A pregnant woman was among the victims when the migrant boat capsized in the Channel. "The Guardian" reports that 6 children and 10 women were among the victims.
It is known that the victims were mainly from Eritrea, a country in the east of Africa. French officials say they do not have details that would allow them to specify exact nationalities.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin says fewer than eight people were wearing life jackets on the overcrowded ship.
The rescue teams rescued over 50 people from the boat, while two of them are in critical condition.
