Elon Musk was seen performing a gesture resembling a Nazi salute while giving a speech at the Capital One Arena.
The Tesla CEO pounded his chest and raised his right arm in the air as he thanked Donald Trump's supporters for returning the president to the White House.
Musk also gave brief remarks to Trump supporters at the Capital One Arena, where he vowed to take his "Department of Government Efficiency" (Doge) "to Mars."
"Some choices are, you know, important," Musk said. "Some aren't, but, but this one really mattered."
"This is the feeling of victory. This really mattered. It is because of you that the future of civilization is secured."
He pledged to "work hard for everyone", adding: "we will take Doge to Mars".
Musk celebrated Trump's election and inauguration at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, saying "this is the feeling of victory."
"And this was no ordinary victory. This was a turning point in the path of human civilization," he told thousands of supporters present at the event.
“You know, there are elections that come and go. Some elections are, you know, important, some aren’t. But these, these really mattered. And I just want to say thank you for making it happen. Thank you.”
The Tesla CEO further said that his heart is with all those supporters who voted for Trump.
"It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is secure. Thanks to you we will have safe cities, finally, safe cities, secure borders, reasonable spending, basic things," he added.
