President Donald Trump is signing his first round of executive orders at the U.S. Capitol after being sworn into office.
Jason Miller, senior adviser to the Trump-Vance Transition, told CNN on Sunday that Trump will finalize and sign executive actions at the Capitol after the inauguration, while others will be signed during his onstage appearance at Capital One Arena shortly afterward.
Trump will sign these orders "not in the White House, not in the space of days and weeks, but today, bringing immediate change to America. This will be politics as performance art. Donald Trump is injecting immediate momentum into his presidency.
Trump declared in his speech that he would quickly and effectively resolve the issue of immigrants, gender, taxes, and beyond, and it appears that he is doing so.
Donald Trump's allies said he will begin his second term as president with a series of executive orders designed to "shock and awe" America.
Tightening immigration, changing President Biden's border policies and implementing sweeping tariffs are among the early priorities of the new president, who is expected to sign up to 200 executive orders on his first day in office.
Although a powerful tool, these orders could be challenged in court – raising the possibility that Trump's ambitions and plans may not be fully realized.
