President Donald Trump, in his inauguration speech, among other things, emphasized that the Panama Canal would be transferred to the United States and named after an American president.
He said the canal was a "gift" the US had given Panama at the time and reiterated his pledge to do something.
"We will take it back ," he warned.
But this statement was not liked at all by Panamanian President Jose Raul Mulino, who has "completely rejected" Trump's suggestion that the US would regain control of the Panama Canal.
Mulino said that "the Canal is and will continue to be Panama's."
