
At least four people have been killed and three others injured, including two police officers, after a knife attack that took place today in Queens, New York.
Police officers were alerted to an attack in the Far Rockaway neighborhood in the early hours of Sunday, where they found the victims in a house that had been set on fire, while the perpetrator stabbed two police officers before one of them shot him dead.
At a press conference, police confirmed they received a call from a woman who said her cousin was killing her family members.
Two officers were dispatched to the address where they saw a male, 39 years old, walking out of the building. When they tried to talk to him, the latter stabbed one of the policemen in the neck and chest and the other in the head.
However, one of the officers was able to draw his weapon and shot the suspect, who died in the hospital.
According to the police, the victims are four people, an 11-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman and a man in his 30s, a 61-year-old woman was also injured.
Authorities identified the suspect as Courtney Gordon, 39, who had a prior arrest for domestic violence in the Bronx.
