Mitsotakis threatens North Macedonia: If you do not respect the Prespa

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has threatened North Macedonia, stating that if they do not respect the Prespa Agreement, the road to the EU will be closed. According to him, Greece has the ability to influence European developments as a whole.

"We have the ability to influence European developments as a whole", said Mitsotakis in a meeting as part of his tour on the eve of the European elections.

"We did not support the Prespa agreement, but we said that after it is voted on we will respect it and that's what we did.  If some believe they can ignore the agreement, know that their path to Europe will remain closed and the memorandums that need to be ratified will not be ratified until they are fully fulfilled ," said the Greek Prime Minister.

We recall that, after the statement of the Greek Foreign Minister, the newly elected Prime Minister of North Macedonia Mickoski called on Greece to stop the attacks on his country and if there is any problem to go to the court of The Hague.

"If they think we have violated the Prespa Agreement, let them go to the International Court of Justice in The Hague. They can start a process and there we will see the arguments of one side and the other. I would like to go there.

The issue of naming North Macedonia has brought back the crisis between the two countries, which had been overcome for some time. The Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs has said that one of the preconditions for the promotion of the European process is the respect of the Prespa Agreement by North Macedonia", he said.
