Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that a shared vision with the United States is essential for the country's future.
In a statement published on Telegram, he confirmed that Kiev and Washington are working on a long-term reconstruction plan until 2040, which includes the return of refugees, economic development, the creation of new jobs and integration into the European Union. Zelensky estimated that the reconstruction of the country will require a fund of about $700 to $800 billion and stressed the importance of creating several joint funds with the US, including an investment fund for reconstruction.
On the eve of his long-awaited meeting with Donald Trump in Florida, Zelensky stressed that security guarantees are the most important issue for Ukraine and that they must be strong and guarantee real protection. He said that Russia continues to show through its attacks how it responds to peace efforts by the US and Ukraine. According to him, the talks should aim to reduce unresolved issues to a minimum, although Ukraine has its own red lines, but is open to compromise proposals. Finally, he issued an appeal for more military assistance from Europe, emphasizing that Russia is intensifying attacks and Ukraine needs more missiles.
