The US State Department has issued a call to American citizens to exercise increased caution due to security risks.
The State Department statement, distributed by the US Embassy in Tirana, emphasizes that the situation is particularly sensitive in the Middle East, while US citizens abroad should follow security guidelines issued by the nearest US embassies and consulates.
It also warns that US diplomatic facilities, including those outside the Middle East, are being targeted. According to the State Department, Iran-backed groups may target other US interests outside the US, as well as countries or individuals affiliated with the United States globally.
