US President Donald Trump said he may have a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war in Ukraine.
In an interview with reporters aboard Air Force One as it departed Abu Dhabi, he said: "We need to meet. Putin and I will meet."
Trump also said that "I think we'll solve it, or maybe not, but at least we'll know. And if we don't solve it, it'll be very interesting."
The US president said earlier that he intends to meet with Putin "as soon as possible," as trilateral talks with representatives of Ukraine, Russia and Turkey in Istanbul concluded.
