In an interview for the Voice of America, the newly elected vice president of the Parliament of Montenegro, Nikollë Camaj, estimates that the involvement of a large number of political forces in the Montenegrin government will not prevent or change the country's Euro-Atlantic orientation.
Mr. Camaj said that the involvement of Albanians in the government of Montenegro is very important for the realization of those rights that have been denied to them for decades.
"Taking important positions, whether in the government or parliament, is important for the implementation of those pre-election promises, but also for the inclusion of Albanians in power and taking responsibility for realizing those rights that have been promised to us for decades and which were signed on papers, but remained there. From the position of the vice-president of the assembly, from the position of the vice-president in the government and of the ministers, we have taken responsibility and we will not blame anyone else if things do not go as we planned ", said Mr. Camaj.
Mr. Camaj points out that the path of European integration and other issues in the region will not be affected and are endangered by the fact that, as he said, they are based on the agreement of the governing coalition.
" What currently dominates and has been proven with dozens of laws approved to win the IBAR (the new phase of negotiations with the EU) and the decisions that the government has had in relation to Kosovo, proves that the current is dominant another that leads straight to Europe. Can relations with neighboring countries come into question, of course we do not believe that they will come into question and we are part of this event, since we have an agreement that does not allow these issues to be touched and any attempt would be frivolous and unfeasible" , said the deputy speaker of the parliament, Mr. Camaj.
Mr. Camaj does not believe that the current majority in power can change the path of Montenegro, since according to him, there is not even the political power for such an action.
" Montenegro has recognized Kosovo and these two countries have diplomatic relations and it cannot be called anything other than independent Kosovo. It may happen that we have different debates in the parliament, but I don't believe that there will be initiatives for something more, and if there are, they will be failed. After all, those initiatives cannot be with us inside and with many others such as the Bosnian Party. And if those forces would like to make a move, they don't have the political power ," said Mr. Camaj.
Power in Montenegro will be concentrated in full compliance with the foreign and security policy of the European Union and NATO partners. The respect and protection of these issues is vital for Montenegro, said the deputy speaker of the parliament, Nikolle Camaj./ VOA
