Tehran warns of expansion of objectives from military to economic in the Middle East
The conflict in the Middle East is entering a new phase of escalation, after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that from April 1 it will target American companies in the region, in response to attacks against Iran, according to Iranian state media.
According to the same sources, 18 American companies will be targeted, including Microsoft, Google, Apple, Intel, IBM, Tesla and Boeing.
" These companies should expect the destruction of their facilities in response to any terrorist act in Iran, starting at 8:00 p.m. Tehran time on Wednesday, April 1 ," the Revolutionary Guards said in a statement.
In the statement, the Revolutionary Guard called on employees of these companies to "immediately leave their workplaces," as well as residents "in all countries in the region" to evacuate the relevant areas.
The list of companies mentioned as targets includes: Cisco, HP, Intel, Oracle, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta, IBM, Dell, Planter, Nvidia, JP Morgan, Tesla, GE, Spire Solutions, G42 and Boeing.
The reference to "Planter" could be related to the company Palantir Technologies, which has previously been mentioned by Iranian media as one of the possible targets.
The warning signals a broadening of the confrontation, moving from military targets to American infrastructure and economic interests in the region.
