At the same time, 12 Thai hostages crossed into Israel en route to the Shamir medical center, said an official briefed on a separate deal brokered by Qatar and Egypt. The official added that the Thai hostages were all men and were not covered by the ceasefire agreement with Israel that relates to women and children.

The news has been confirmed by the Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin, through a post on the social network "X", in which he wrote that embassy officials are "on their way" to take them in the next hour.

"It has been confirmed by the security department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that 12 Thai hostages have already been released. They need to know their names and details. Please stay tuned,” wrote Srettha Thavisin on X.

It came after Egyptian government media said it had brokered a deal to free the 12 Thai hostages. They said negotiations began when Thailand's foreign minister visited Qatar on October 31.

In exchange for the Israeli hostages, 39 Palestinian prisoners are expected to be released by Israel today. They will be sent to Israel's Ofer prison in the occupied West Bank, before the Red Cross takes them to other locations there and to east Jerusalem, according to the advocacy group the Palestinian Prisoners' Club.

Palestinian authorities have released a list of 39 prisoners expected to be released, including 24 women and 15 teenage boys. Their release will take place after 16:00 local time when Hamas will return the 13 Israeli hostages.

Most of the 15 Palestinian teenagers to be released were arrested for incitement and stone-throwing, as well as the broadly defined charge of "supporting terrorism," the advocacy group the Palestinian Prisoners' Club said.

Meanwhile, the British media "Sky News" informed that no British hostages will be released today. Also, a senior White House official said the US does not expect any Americans to be among the first group of hostages released today. But it added that they "remain hopeful" the American hostages will be among those to be released in the coming days.

In total, 50 hostages and 150 Palestinian prisoners will be released as part of the agreement during the four-day ceasefire./Pamphlet
