Five countries have announced their readiness to send troops to Gaza as part of a recently proposed International Stabilization Force. The plan was made public during a meeting of US President Donald Trump's Peace Council in Washington, DC.

According to the official announcement, Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Albania will contribute troops on the ground. Egypt and Jordan will support the mission by training Palestinian police officers.

The force will be led by U.S. Army General Jasper Jeffers, who was appointed mission commander by President Trump's administration. Indonesia will retain the position of deputy commander. General Jeffers confirmed that Jakarta has accepted this role in the force's leadership structure.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said his country was ready to deploy up to 8,000 troops. He said Indonesia aimed to contribute to “making peace work” in Gaza. According to figures cited during the meeting, at least 72,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israel’s military campaign.

Officials in Jakarta stressed that Indonesia's contribution will focus on humanitarian tasks. Further details on the full mandate, deployment timelines or operational coordination of the international force have not yet been made public.

The plan was presented during the first meeting of US President Donald Trump's Peace Board in Washington DC, a new international structure proposed to manage the post-war reconstruction and stabilization of the Gaza Strip following a two-year conflict between Israel and Hamas.

This plan is based on a United Nations Security Council resolution authorizing an international peacekeeping force, called the International Stabilization Force (ISF), with a mandate to secure the area, assist in the demilitarization of Hamas, and support reconstruction and civilian structures.

According to the plan, it is intended to deploy about 20,000 troops and 12,000 police in five sectors of Gaza, starting from Rafah in the south.
