Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has accused the West of taking a clear anti-Russian stance, which he says is evidenced by the current holding of NATO's largest training exercise.
But according to him, this strategy to put pressure on Russia has not worked so far, nor will it work later.
" The West is doing everything against Russia, as evidenced by the current holding of NATO's largest training exercise. The strategy to restrain our country, to put pressure on it, has gone nowhere. Sometimes it escalates, sometimes it decreases. Now it is probably at its peak. Such exercises are the best evidence for this" , he added.
Peskov noted that the West maintains a very clear anti-Russian position, which is defined by NATO, while accusing the US of being the one that defines the rhetoric of the alliance.
We recall that NATO began on Wednesday the largest military exercise since the Cold War period, and an American warship left the United States to cross the Atlantic towards the alliance's territory in Europe.
The Western military alliance has said that around 90,000 forces will take part in the months-long exercise called "Steadfast Defender 2024". The training operation is intended to test NATO's defenses as Russia's war in Ukraine continues.
