Pahlavi criticizes US-Iran ceasefire and calls on European countries to support the Iranian people more
During an event in Berlin, a protester threw a red substance at Iran's exiled prince, Reza Pahlavi. The latter did not react with visible concern, greeted his supporters and left the place in a vehicle.
At a press conference in the German capital, Pahlavi criticized the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. He argued that the agreement is based on the assumption that the Iranian government will change its approach and that Washington will face more realistic actors.
"I don't see this happening," he declared, adding that diplomacy should be given a chance, but according to him, enough have already been given.
Pahlavi, who has lived in exile for decades, has expressed ambitions to play a role in Iran's political future if the current theocratic regime falls. He has also supported US-Israeli military intervention in the Middle East.

During his statements, he called on European countries to increase support for Iranian citizens seeking democracy. According to him, over the past two weeks, Iranian authorities have executed 19 political prisoners, while 20 others have been sentenced to death.
"Will the free world act or will it continue to watch this situation in silence?" he said.
Reza Pahlavi has been in exile for nearly 50 years. His father, the Shah of Iran, was overthrown in 1979 after massive popular protests. However, Pahlavi continues to try to position himself as a factor in his country's future.
