A tragedy has occurred in Greece, in Kastoria, where two 16-year-olds lost their lives.
According to information, in the early hours of Thursday morning in the Korisos area of Kastoria, a traffic accident and overturning of a passenger vehicle occurred.
The two children were removed from the vehicle, but no signs of life were seen.
The fatal road accident occurred on the Kastoria-Amyntaion national road, shortly before 06:00 on Thursday morning (28.08.2025).
The exact causes have not yet been clarified, however, brake marks found on the road indicate that the driver (although it is not clear which of the two it was) attempted to stop the vehicle before it swerved, knocked down a wire fence and ended up in a field.
The rescue operation was difficult, with five firefighters and two vehicles struggling for a long time to extract the bodies of the two teenagers from the rubble. They were then taken to Kastoria hospital, where they were simply pronounced dead.
It remains unclear how the minors ended up behind the wheel, after they managed to get the car keys. According to reports, their families had been looking for them since last night.
