The pilot of a Ryanair plane flying from Barcelona to Porto suffered a fainting spell during the flight, but fortunately managed to be recalled and the plane landed normally, an official source from Portugal's EKAB told the Portuguese agency Lusa.
Speaking to Lusa, he confirmed that he had received a notification at 8:19 a.m. that a pilot on a Ryanair plane heading to Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, in the Porto area, had suffered "a rapid recovery from syncope" during the flight.
An ambulance from the Moreira da Maia Fire Department and a medical vehicle, emergency vehicle (VMER) from the Pedro Hispano Hospital went to Sá Carneiro Airport, the same source said.
"The pilot received assistance on the spot, but refused to go to the hospital and stayed at the airport," he said.
It is also reported that the flight on which the pilot suffered syncope was scheduled to arrive in Porto at 8:35 am.
Data from the airport's website shows that the only Ryanair flight that arrived this Sunday morning at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport from Barcelona (Spain) was flight FR 4587, which arrived at 08:35 at Terminal 1.
