Passengers on a flight from Corfu to Düsseldorf experienced moments of terror when the plane's right engine burst into flames.
The Condor B757-300 aircraft, during takeoff and at an altitude of about 1,500 meters, started to burn in the right engine. At that moment, citizens and visitors above the port of Corfu heard a loud noise.
According to Greek media, the plane made a circular turn and initially headed parallel to the runway.
It then climbed to an altitude of 6,000 to 8,000 feet and headed towards Brindisi airport in Italy, where a safe landing was ensured.
The incident caused fear among passengers, but fortunately no injuries were reported.
