A sudden fire broke out in the elevator shaft of the Eiffel Tower, between the first and second floors of the symbolic monument of Paris.
According to police sources, the fire started in this part of the tower and fortunately, there were no injuries. Paris firefighters responded immediately after the fire was reported and managed to extinguish the flames in a short period of time.
Due to the potential danger, the authorities decided to immediately evacuate the visitors and employees who were in the tower. Around 1,200 people were evacuated by police and emergency services, ensuring they were out of harm's way.
After the incident, the Eiffel Tower was closed for a short period, while the authorities began investigations to discover the cause of this fire.
