The protests in Serbia, the analyst sheds light on the behind-the-scenes: Vucic

Tens of thousands of people are protesting in Belgrade against Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and his government.

The protests, organized by students and farmers' unions, are part of a wider movement demanding accountability for the collapse of the roof of the railway station in Novi Sad that left 15 dead on November 1.

Regarding these protests, Serbian analyst Nikola Burazer spoke in Euronews Albania, who said that Vucic is facing the anger of the students and since the protesters have no interlocutors, it is very difficult to have a dialogue.

"On the square are the students who are protesting, the opposition parties are not yet at the top of the game, so it is not yet clear with whom the dialogue should be held and it will not be easy to find an interlocutor for this, especially among students who have now they have refused to engage in dialogue with Vučić as they say that he is responsible for what happened, where according to them the fact that he makes all the decisions in Serbia is anti-constitutional, so it makes no sense to talk to him", he said . Nikola Burazer.

Burazer said that the students are asking for talks with the institutions but they are determined that these institutions also depend on him, so they are ignoring President Vucic, putting him in a very specific situation where he has not found himself before and where he cannot find himself opportunities for dialogue.

"I do not believe that there can be a dialogue for negotiations between the government and any representative of protesting students. At the moment it seems even more impossible. The protest is decentralized and if there will be dialogue, it remains to be seen whether it will be between the protesters and the institutions. We will see if there will be a better articulation of the demands of the protesters through a political platform, perhaps something we have not seen so far. At the moment, finding the interlocutor is difficult since no one is hiding behind the students, but in the coming months it will be necessary to find a strategy to get out of this crisis. If there was a resignation from the Serbian leadership, then this would be a victory for the protesters", said Nikola Burazer.
