An expert and investor claims that the Western world could cease to exist due to the rise of "artificial intelligence" and digital currencies.
Author Doug Casey wrote a book called "Crisis Investing," which topped the New York Times nonfiction list. The book focuses on the "imminent crisis" facing Western civilization.
Casey has narrowed his focus to the signs and warnings he believes point to our impending collapse, based on his study of historical events such as the fall of Ancient Rome.
You might think that Doug Casey would cite a war as the reason for the end of the modern world, as experts have mentioned in the past.
However, the analyst believes that the concept of "free thought" is being "washed away" by "cancel culture, political correctness and thought crimes."
Another reason, according to him, is that the decline of the free market leads to the decline of the West.
He told the DailyMail that "people who believe in the state believe in obligation and believe that the government has the right to run these things. That is also on the rise."
Casey also added that Western society in its current form has some parallels with the fall of Rome, where power became increasingly centralized and former soldiers became beneficiaries of welfare.
“ After the wars, the peasants who went to defend the interests of the Republic returned to their homeland. Their farms were in bad shape and were going bankrupt, so they had to move to the cities, where they became beneficiaries of welfare. There are many parallels to this in the modern West ,” he points out.
A third warning sign is a steady decline in the use of money.
Most people now use their bank cards, relying on products like Apple Pay for their everyday needs.
“ Money allows you to build wealth on your own, privately. And what seems to be on the horizon are central bank digital currencies. If these are approved, there will be zero privacy of what you own, what you buy, what you sell, everything will be known by a very powerful computer, especially with artificial intelligence. This is becoming much more ominous than in the past. So if you believe in privacy and individualism, CBDC will erase any remnants of that ,” he stressed.
His final sign is that society may collapse due to the "evaporation" of the rule of war.
Instead of laws, there are "millions and millions" of micro-regulations.
