After weeks of suffering, cheers of joy were heard Saturday night and early Sunday in Palestine as some of the Palestinian prisoners were released from Israeli prisons.
A busload of 39 Palestinian prisoners released by Israel under the cease-fire agreement arrived in the West Bank early Sunday.
Their families and crowds gathered in Al Bireh, Ramallah in the West Bank to celebrate the release of 39 prisoners, who were freed on the second day of a four-day ceasefire and prisoner swap deal. Of the released persons, 33 are teenagers and six are women.
The crowd was chanting "Allah is great" when the bus arrived, while some youths climbed onto the roof of the vehicle. Many in the crowd carried Hamas flags and chanted pro-Hamas slogans.

The Palestinian prisoners arrived wearing gray sweatshirts, the clothes they wore when they were released from prison.
It took them an hour and a half to reach Ramallah as the bus they were traveling in drove through the crowd. The families of those released, speaking to Al Jazeera, said they were very happy but that feeling is being dampened by the ongoing war in Gaza and the fact that so many thousands of Palestinian prisoners remain in Israeli prisons.
Isra Jaabis, 37, is among 39 Palestinian prisoners released from Damon, Megiddo and Ofer prisons in exchange for 13 Israeli hostages held in Gaza as part of the eventful second day of a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.
Isra Jaabis was arrested in October 2015. She was charged with attempted murder after her car exploded near an Israeli checkpoint.
According to her, who has burns on half of her body, a faulty gas cylinder went up in flames in front of a checkpoint in East Jerusalem.
Israeli authorities accused her of attempting to detonate a bomb with the intention of killing Israeli soldiers, and she was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Israel has so far released 78 Palestinian prisoners, including 39 released on Friday and 39 released late Saturday, as a temporary ceasefire agreement and prisoner exchange continue.
But Israel has also continued to arrest more Palestinians in daily raids in the occupied West Bank, even as it releases others.
On Saturday, the Palestinian Prisoners' Club reported that at least 17 Palestinians were arrested in the West Bank following the first release of prisoners.
Even after the releases, more than 8,000 Palestinians remain in Israeli custody, including more than 2,200 administrative detainees held without charge or trial.
