United States President Donald Trump stated that the possibility of negotiations with Iran remains open, but only if certain conditions are met. In an interview with Fox News, he also commented on the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei as Supreme Leader and the latest developments in the US military operation against Iranian targets.

Trump said the initial results of the military operation "Epic Fury" have exceeded expectations in the initial phase. According to data from the US Central Command, US forces have struck more than 5,000 targets since the start of the operation on February 28.

He stated that the first strike had a major impact on Iran's missile capabilities. According to him, about half of the Iranian missiles were neutralized in the first phase of the strikes. Trump argued that this action avoided a more difficult conflict later.

The US president presented the decision to attack as necessary and stressed that early intervention changed the course of the situation. He said that if the US had waited a few days, Iran could have launched attacks against American interests.

Trump also mentioned the element of surprise in the operation. He said that the attacks carried out in the morning caught the Iranian side off guard, which was not expecting such an action at that moment.

In the interview, the US president also spoke about Iran's nuclear program. According to him, information he had received from special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner showed that Tehran claimed to have enough enriched uranium to produce up to 11 nuclear bombs.

Trump argued that if Iran already had a nuclear weapon, it could use it against Israel or other targets in the Middle East.

Asked about the possibility of dialogue, he said he had heard that Iran was 'thirsty' for talks. According to him, a meeting could only happen if conditions allowed for it.

The US president also expressed surprise at Iranian attacks on Gulf countries in response to US and Israeli operations.

He also commented on reports of an attack on a girls' school. According to Iranian state media and UNICEF, the death toll could be between 165 and 180 people, mostly girls. These figures have not been independently verified.

Trump said the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation and added that the missile used in that event is not in the possession of the United States alone.

Trump's statements come at a time of high tension in the region, as military operations and developments around the Iranian nuclear program continue to affect the security situation in the Middle East.
