Matt Gaetz withdrew his name, after the scandals that are emerging from day to day. He reacted on the "X" social network saying that he is leaving, putting an end to the debate over his name.
"There is no time to waste in an unnecessarily prolonged tussle in Washington, so I will withdraw my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General," Gaetz wrote.
The announcement came a day after the House Ethics Committee stalled on releasing a report on allegations of sexual misconduct and illegal drug use by Gaetz.

It was revealed today that the FBI tracked payments made by Matt Gaetz to girls he had sex with: thousands of dollars, transferred via the Venmo app, made between 2017 and 2020 for the benefit of women who testified in court that they had sex with him.
According to the New York Times, the declassified documents are related to a three-year trafficking investigation that involved the then-Florida congressman, now appointed by Donald Trump as the new Attorney General, although he was not indicted.
The FBI found confirmation that Gaetz paid thousands of dollars to a group of friends, including women who organized a series of orgies between 2017 and 2020 and engaged in paid sex.
On Wednesday November 20, Gaetz was escorted to the Capitol by Vice President-elect JD Vance to meet senators and gain their confidence as Secretary. But it seems that the situation has changed.
