US-Iran talks progress, sides begin face-to-face negotiations

Talks between Iran and the United States have entered a new phase, as the parties have moved from indirect communication to direct trilateral meetings mediated by Pakistan.

According to Pakistani government sources, quoted by the BBC, face-to-face talks are currently underway between representatives of Iran, the US and Pakistan. Earlier, the dialogue was conducted indirectly through Pakistani mediators. This means that the parties have agreed and are ready to discuss the points proposed by the parties.

This is a step forward in the diplomatic process, given the deep differences and lack of trust between the two sides on key issues. The move to direct meetings is seen as an indication of an improvement in the climate for negotiations.

However, it remains to be seen whether this process will lead to a prolonged ceasefire, a concrete agreement or at least to the continuation of dialogue in the future. In this context, Pakistan's role as a mediator is considered essential in advancing the talks.
