Clashes over list of hostages to be released, Netanyahu postpones Gaza

Israel has postponed the entry into force of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas. The pact was supposed to be implemented today, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the ceasefire in Gaza will not take effect unless Hamas releases a list of hostages to be released.

" The prime minister instructed the IDF that the ceasefire, which is supposed to come into effect at 08:30 (06:30 Albanian time), will not begin until Israel has the list of released hostages that Hamas has pledged to provide ," his office said.

A day earlier, the Israeli prime minister made a similar warning, warning that the deal could be blocked. Hamsi himself has stated that the reason for the delay in the list of names is due to technical reasons on the ground.

Full details of the agreement

The agreement will be divided into three phases, the first of which lasts six weeks.

This will include a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from central Gaza and the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza.

The agreement stipulates that 600 trucks of humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza each day of the ceasefire, 300 of which will be allocated to the north.

Hamas will release the hostages over six weeks at a rate of three hostages each week, with the remainder to be released by the end of the first phase. The remains of those who died will then be sent.

Israel will release all Palestinian women, children and 18-year-olds detained since October 7th until the end of the first phase.

Israel will release 30 Palestinian prisoners for every civilian hostage and 50 Palestinian prisoners for every Israeli soldier released by Hamas.

The total number of Palestinians released will depend on the hostages released and could be between 990 and 1,650.

Negotiations for the second phase of the agreement will begin on the 16th day of the first phase.

These are expected to include the release of all remaining hostages, including male Israeli soldiers, as well as a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops.

The third phase is expected to include the return of all troops from Gaza and the start of reconstruction in Gaza supervised by Egypt, Qatar and the UN.

The implementation of the agreement will be guaranteed by Qatar, Egypt and the US.
