European Union leaders will meet on Saturday on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Johannesburg to discuss the situation in Ukraine, its leaders, Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa, said on Friday.
"We spoke with President Zelensky. We discussed the current situation and it is clear that there should be nothing for Ukraine without Ukraine," Costa and von der Leyen said in a statement to X.
"Nothing should be decided about Ukraine without Ukraine," the Commission president stressed after the call with Zelensky.
The Ukrainian president said he had "informed" the president of the European Commission and the president of the European Council about Trump's plan aimed at ending nearly four years of Russian aggression.
"Regarding the next steps, European leaders will meet tomorrow on the sidelines of the G20, then in Angola," where a summit of the European Union and the African Union will be held, Ursula von der Leyen said on Platform X.
