The Republican senator and at the same time the leader of the right in the Upper House of Representatives, Mitch McConnell, has shown another episode, in which he completely "froze" for a few seconds.
During a press conference, McConnell was asked by reporters if he would run for another term in the 2026 midterm elections.
However, instead of answering, the Republican senator froze in place for a few seconds.
An assistant approached him and asked if he had heard and understood the question, but again, haunted, McConnell with his eyes raised and a gaze in the air, did not react and remained frozen.
After a few seconds like that, he was mentioned again and said he was ready to take more questions from reporters.
However, this is not the first time something like this has happened.
A few weeks ago, the same episode involved him freezing up for a few seconds during a press conference, from which he had to leave and return a few minutes later.
This raised concerns among people, asking whether or not McConnell was able to continue his job as a US senator, or should he already resign.
McConnell, 81 years old now, is one of the most important voices within the Republicans and has held the title of minority leader in the US Senate since January 2021.
For the previous six years, meanwhile, he was the majority leader in the US Senate, since the most positions at that time came from the right wing.
Whereas, from 2021, the majority is held by the Democrats.
