Raging fires are threatening Vladimir Putin's £1bn Black Sea mansion. The Daily Mail writes that hundreds of firefighters are in action to bring the flames under control and save the property on "the top of the cliff".
The authorities suspect that the fire is intentional and are working to identify the perpetrators. Meanwhile, it is understood that so far it has included more than 100 hectares around the city of Gelendzhik, about 100 miles from the Crimean Peninsula.
Two helicopters, firefighting planes and almost 100 vehicles are participating in the operation to control the flames.
The palace has over 16,700 square meters. There is a church, tea house and an amphitheater, but also a hockey rink. Above it, the flight is prohibited, as well as the passage of other ships around it.
