Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has dismissed claims by his US counterpart, Donald Trump, saying the idea that Tehran will surrender through coercion is simply an illusion.
In a post on the social network "X", Pezeshkian said that Iran has consistently respected its commitments and has explored every path to avoid war. He stressed that Tehran remains open to talks and reciprocity, the path of pressure, according to him, will not work.
Iran has consistently honored its commitments and explored every avenue to avert war; all paths remain open from our side. Forcing Iran to surrender through coercion is nothing but an illusion. Mutual respect in diplomacy is far wiser, safer, and more sustainable than war.
