
From 99.80% of the votes counted from yesterday's voting for the election of the president in North Macedonia, VMRO-DPMNE candidate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova has created a deep double lead with 362,561 votes or 40.09% in front of Stevo Pendarovski , the candidate of the "For European Future" coalition led by SDSM who won 180,216 votes or 19.93%.
Behind them is the candidate of the "European Front" led by DUI, Bujar Osmani who won 120,803 votes or 13.36%, while the candidate of the Albanian opposition VLEN, Arben Taravari won 83,307 or 9.21%.
The candidate of the ZNAM coalition, Maksim Dimitrievski, ranked fourth with 83,761 votes or 9.26%.
The "Left" candidate, Biljana Vankovska-Cvetanovska, won 41,167 votes or 4.55%, while the GROM candidate, Stevçe Jakimovski, won 8,096 votes or 0.90%.
According to these results, the new president will be elected in a runoff (the second round of elections), where the two candidates Siljanovska-Davkova and Pendarovski will go, since in the first round it is required that the president be elected with 50 percent of the votes, with the condition that the participation in the elections is over 40 percent of the electorate.
