Prigozhin speaks for the first time after the uprising and steps back: It

Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin has reacted for the first time since his withdrawal on Saturday night. He has reposted an 11-minute audio message outlining the goals of his uprising.

In his video message, Prigozhin rejected all claims that he was staging a coup, as he added that the purpose of the march was to avoid the destruction of Wagner.

He further said they were just marching to demonstrate their protest and not to overthrow the government. Prigozhin added that he was forced to withdraw the troops to avoid the bloodshed of Russian soldiers.

"During the night, we have walked 780 kilometers (about 484 miles). Two hundred or so kilometers (about 125 miles) left to Moscow. Not a single soldier on the ground was killed. We regret that we had to attack the planes, but these planes dropped bombs and launched missile attacks. The purpose of the march was to avoid the destruction of Wagner and to hold accountable the officials who, with their unprofessional actions, have made a large number of mistakes. We were on a march to demonstrate our protest, not to overthrow the government. The march was stopped when the detachment made a reconnaissance of the area and it was clear that at that moment a lot of blood would be shed. We thought that demonstrating what we were going to do was enough. At this time, Alexander Lukashenko reached out and offered to find solutions for the further work of Wagner PMC in the legal jurisdiction", Yevgeny Prigozhin said among others.

Speaking about the terms of the deal said to have been struck to stop Wagner's rebellion over the weekend, Prigozhin claims the group was categorically against the decision to jail Wagner on July 1, 2023 and include him in the defense ministry.

Although as part of the deal, Prigozhin had agreed to go to Belarus, he did not reveal where he was in the video message he shared on Telegram.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin made his first appearance today, since the march of the Wagner group over the weekend, where he also made a statement to the media. It is unclear when or where Putin recorded this statement, as he did not mention any agreement with Prigozhin, or the Wagner uprising./Pamphlet
