The head of the Wagner group has again provoked tensions with the Russian Ministry of Defense. In a speech published today, he expressed that he is ready to return and fight in Ukraine, if they take separate parts of the front, but without having to depend on the "clowns" who lead the armed forces of the Kremlin, giving you thus referred to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Celebrating his 62nd birthday today at a training camp, Wagner's boss Yevgeny Prigozhin also confirmed that his men would finally leave the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut on June 5 after they handed him over to the Russian army.
" If the whole chain (of command) is 100% failed and will be led only by clowns who turn people into meat, then we will not participate in it," said Prigozhin, who is known for his comments diverse and provocative.
Prigozhin said his men wanted to rest in camps in Russian-controlled Ukraine for about a month and then things would become clearer.
" It's been a tough year. Then we'll see how it goes ," he said.
The mercenary boss rose to fame during the 15-month war in Ukraine and regularly insulted President Vladimir Putin's top military brass, particularly Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
