This evening in Russia, the voting process to elect the new president of the country was closed. While all polling stations are closed, the preliminary results declare President Vladimir Putin the winner with about 90 percent of the votes.
The latter gave a speech to supporters where he said that his victory in the election will allow Russia to become stronger and more effective.
Speaking at his campaign headquarters, Putin said his government is building a common will of the people of the Russian Federation.
He also thanked the citizens who went to the polls and expressed special gratitude to the fighters on the front line in Ukraine.
" No matter how much they tried to scare us, suppress our will, our conscience, no one has succeeded in history. They failed now and will fail in the future ," he adds.
