"Putin did not want to kill Prigozhin", the Belarusian opposition

Franak Viacorka, the main political adviser to the head of the Belarusian opposition Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, said that Prigozhin is unlikely to stay in Belarus for a long time.

According to him, this was a temporary solution that interested both Putin and Prigozhin. He added that Putin didn't want to kill Wagner's head because he has to, but he also couldn't allow him to continue the attack he started, so sending him to Belarus was a convenient solution.

Viacorka said that Prigozhin does not see Belarus as his place of retirement, as he warned that there could be a return of tensions.

" I think this was the solution that Putin and Prigozhin liked. On the one hand, Putin did not want to kill Prigozhin because he is important; he is needed for the war in Ukraine and on the other hand Putin also did not want to let him go and stay and do what he does. The problem is that Prigozhin will not stay in Belarus for long. This is not his dream destination where he wants to build his retirement and his business, so I think it is only a temporary solution and the saga with the story will continue ," said Viacorka.
