With tensions only rising further between Russia and the West, fears of World War III have escalated after a missile was spotted being deployed in one of Putin's satellite states.
Fears of World War III are growing after Vlad Putin deployed one of his "unstoppable missiles."
The artillery could have catastrophic consequences for Britain, with the potential for the missile to hit central London in just 8 minutes.
As peace talks in Ukraine hang in the balance, tensions between Russia and the West continue to escalate. After the Kremlin reported that Kiev had struck Putin's residence in western Russia over the weekend, Moscow is trying to drive a wedge between Ukraine and the West, primarily the United States.
As hostilities continue to escalate between NATO and the Kremlin, one of its most destructive missiles has been spotted in space. If used, it could completely destroy some of Europe's largest cities, including London.
According to the Sun newspaper, Russian nuclear weapons were spotted in Belarus, one of Moscow's few remaining allies. The Oreshnik missile was seen being brought to a recently built Russian military base in the country.
Troops in Belarus welcomed the opening of the military base in a small ceremony, according to Moscow's Defense Ministry on Tuesday (December 30). They did not confirm how many Oreshnik missiles were deployed at the site, or if there were any other details about the site itself.
The Oreshnik missiles are seen as one of Russia's most fearsome weapons, which could have the capability to carry nuclear warheads. They are believed to be incredibly fast and powerful, while pro-Kremlin sources say they can easily evade Western defenses.
Videos released by the Belarusian Defense Ministry on Tuesday confirmed that the Oreshniks were now on their territory, but did not reveal where the missile systems were located. However, they showed various launchers, with its military moving along forest roads and masking the exact location of the missiles with camouflage nets.
Senior military figures were also seen telling Belarusian forces that the missiles were ready for combat. However, the Oreshniks have already been used as they were vital to a series of attacks that Putin launched on Ukraine in November 2024, although these were not capable of nuclear weapons.
Inside sources believe the hypersonic missiles are reportedly in the Krychaw area of eastern Belarus, not far from its border with Russia. Belarus' dictator, Alexander Lukashenko, said he was excited about their deployment, saying the presence of the Oreshnik missiles on his territory would make the country "strong."
However, the missiles remain under the full control of Putin and the Kremlin, despite Lukashenko's blatant rhetoric. Earlier, it was reported that Oreshnik missiles stationed in Belarus could easily hit London in just eight minutes.
Putin's major escalation of the situation comes as a fragile peace plan for Ukraine continues to be hammered out between its president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and US President Donald Trump. While Zelensky maintained a positive tone, saying most things had been agreed upon, Trump was more hesitant, admitting there were "one or two difficult areas" to resolve.
