Sixteen people were injured this afternoon in rocket attacks carried out by Hezbollah in central Israel, the Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) announced. According to the MDA, 14 of the injured are in good condition.
Meanwhile, in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council area, two other people were lightly injured after another strike. Israeli police confirmed that the rocket fell in an open area, but caused damage to infrastructure.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it had launched a barrage of precision missiles against a military satellite communications station in the Elah Valley and a rear command base in the Ramleh area, in response to Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Beirut.
Israeli officials said that air defense systems (such as Iron Dome) intercepted some rockets, but some passed through and caused material damage and minor injuries.
