
Iran-backed Houthi rebels said they had carried out a drone attack on Tel Aviv, which was not directly confirmed by Israeli authorities.
In the statement, the rebels provided details claiming to have carried out a military operation that targeted important targets in Jaffa with a number of drones.
"The operation successfully achieved its goals, the drones hit their targets and the enemy was unable to engage them or shoot them down ," it is further underlined.
The Israeli military, for its part, only confirmed that it intercepted a suspected aerial target near the central regions of the country overnight, but did not provide more details.
On Wednesday, the Houthis also announced that shortly after the Iranian attack, they too launched cruise missiles towards the Jewish state.
Last week, the armed group that controls much of Yemen fired a missile at Ben Gurion International Airport, located near Tel Aviv. This attack was followed by Israeli airstrikes in Yemen, including on the port of Hodeidah.
The Houthis are part of the "Axis of Resistance" - the network of regional collaborators that Iran has against Israel and the United States.
