Revolt from the Wanger group, Lukashenko: I asked Putin not to kill Prigozhin!

Belarus strongman Alexander Lukashenko said he had asked his ally President Vladimir Putin not to kill the head of the Wagner mercenary group, which last week tried to topple Russia's main power.

Lukashenko, a longtime ally of Putin, claimed to have negotiated an end to the armed uprising and said he would take in exiled rebels and Wagner's boss, Yevgeny Prigozhin, Le Parisien reports.

"I told Putin: we can lose [Prigozhyn], no problem; if not in the first attempt, then in the second. I told him: don't do it," he told a meeting of security officials, according to state media.

Putin's supporters insisted his rule was not weakened by the revolt, which was widely seen as the biggest threat to the Kremlin's authority since he came to power.

Lukashenko also revealed that he warned Wagner's boss, Yevgeny Prigozhin, that his forces would be destroyed if they continued their march on the Russian capital.

The uprising of the Wagner Group and the subsequent cancellation of plans by the group's leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has been in focus in recent days. An image that for many experts and high officials from different countries is a sign of "weakness" manifested by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The group, founded by Dmitri Utkin and now led by Prigozhin, had various disagreements and tensions with the Russian military and the Kremlin over the lack of military aid on the battlefront. Despite all this, the paramilitary organization has played a key role in reaching various territories for Russian troops stationed in Ukraine, such as the city of Bakhmut. Now, a report published by Logically has revealed that the group often launches recruitment campaigns to increase its power.

One of the most surprising aspects is the conditions offered to applicants, including the salary offered, which amounts to 240,000 rubles per month, the equivalent of 2,700 euros. An amount to which bonuses can be added based on achievements.
