During the war between the US, Israel and Iran, the Persian Gulf states used at least 2,400 Patriot missiles of the PAC-3 and GEM-T types out of a total of 2,800 they had before the conflict. According to Bloomberg, these reserves are gradually being depleted.
According to the report, this high consumption is related to the unprecedented intensity of operations by Iran.
As a result, the air defense forces of these countries have begun to use cheaper JDAM-type munitions. However, cruise missiles continue to be widely used, as some areas of airspace remain dangerous for short-range operations.
The agency also points out that Lockheed Martin produces about 650 PAC-3 missiles per year, a rate that may not be enough to meet current consumption.
Meanwhile, the intensity of attacks continues to increase, reaching up to 40 launches per day over the past weekend. Such a burden on air defense systems risks affecting the ongoing security of airspace in countries in the region.
