North Korea launched several cruise missiles into the sea on Saturday, further raising tensions in the region.
According to the South Korean military, this is the fifth test the North Koreans have conducted since January. Missiles fired were detected northeast and east of Wonsan city. According to the South Korean military, they are being analyzed in cooperation with the US military, while it is not yet known whether they were released from land or sea.
"Our military has increased surveillance and vigilance and is working closely with American partners, closely monitoring signals of further activity from North Korea," the South Korean military's General Staff said without giving many details.
